West African unity
The Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government is the Community’s highest decision-making forum. In 2026, leaders gather in Freetown under the chairmanship of the host nation to deliberate on regional integration, economic transformation, democratic governance, and collective security.
The Summit will adopt landmark decisions on the single currency agenda, free movement of persons and goods, energy interconnectivity, and the Community’s Vision 2050.
